Groups are vital to Neighbourhood Church's concept of being the people
of God. First, the Bible is meant to be studied in small groups where
we have a chance to ask questions and share insights. Second, the small
group is where we pray for each other and offer thanks for prayers
answered. And thirdly, the small group gives an opportunity for
personal contact and caring that is simply not possible in larger
settings.
Although Care Groups are not the only way to express community, they certainly are a tried and tested way for individuals to come together for friendship, mutual encouragement, study, prayer, transformational discipleship, care and outreach. In the context of a care group individuals can find deep and meaningful relationships, care in times of crisis, a deeper and more durable faith and a context for team outreach and mission.
